    And pretty much all the US factories that used to make ceramics are closed because labor is cheaper in places like in this picture. We had one near me that closed in 2013 - after operating for 110 years. They just could no longer compete with imported stuff.

    I think the US gets most of their ceramics from Mexico these days.

    Mexico does indeed have a tradition of pottery factories - and of course, a more ancient tradition of ceramics. One of the art pottery creators whose work I collect went to Guadalajara to create his designs, which the Lofisa factory there produced, around 1950.

    My mugs came from China. A lot of glassware is made in Mexico, too. The factory in the video is in Pakistan.
